A Fashionable Haven
AT HUNTSMAN

In the whirl of shows and presentations that take place over London Collections: Men, Huntsman offered those in the fashion industry a welcome respite from the hubbub by throwing a laid-back cocktail party at its Savile Row headquarters Saturday night.

In the whirl of shows and presentations that take place over London Collections: Men, Huntsman offered those in the fashion industry a welcome respite from the hubbub by throwing a laid-back cocktail party at its Savile Row headquarters Saturday night.

Guests included Huntsman’s Chairman Pierre Lagrange, models David Gandy, Oliver Cheshire & Johannes Huebl as well as LCM Ambassador and Chinese Superstar Hu Bing who all flocked to Huntsman’s handsome HQ.

Partygoers were greeted by the sounds of experimental jazz, courtesy of ‘The Huntsmens’ a quartet that came together for the night of incredibly famous jazz musicians, in their own right and together; led by New York Gene Calderazzo.

Guests were able to preview Huntsman’s AW16 tweed collection,AW16 tweed collection, showcasing ‘The Machir’ Tweed Sports Coat. Available in a variety of hues, the name was inspired by the sunset and dusk colors of Machir Bay that lies adjacent to the 16th century woolen mill that has been making Huntsman Tweeds for generations.. Notable explorer twins, Ross & Hugo Turner, had guests laughing and snapping away when they tried their hand at modeling; removing two of the mannequins and replacing them with their identical twin selves and Machir jackets.

Guests also took a moment to take a closer look at Huntsman’s summer window display, which sets a scene of mannequins playing croquet on a grassy lawn, wearing the house’s white linen and Donegal herringbone coats and matching trousers.

As the crowd mingled, they sipped on Huntsman cocktails composed by Chivas whisky in honour of the evening, and nibbled inventive canapés created by Aimée Hirsch, among them beef carpaccio with artichoke purée, Vietnamese pork in lettuce leaf, and smoked trout with salsa verde.

But the evening wasn’t just a chance to clink glasses – it also acted as the premier for a short film that Huntsman has created with The Gentleman’s Journal, which sees Huntsman cutter Antonia Ede create a bespoke suit that falls outside Huntsman’s usual repertoire. The film follows Alexander Warren  being fitted for a Huntsman bespoke black tie, only to reveal that his four-legged friend – Mungo, the dachshund – is sporting its own Huntsman bespoke tuxedo! And while Huntsman might not be about to branch out into suits for dogs, the house did have a collection of bespoke dog collars on display that guests could order during the evening, which come in a variety of Huntsman’s house tweeds with leather accents. And naturally, dogs were welcome on the night too, and enjoyed a few canapés of the canine variety.
