Huntsman’s Creative Director Campbell Carey gives us his rundown of the key pieces every gent should have in their Summer wardrobe, available in bespoke and Ready to Wear, you can outfit for every eventuality, and with temperatures set to soar around the globe now is the perfect time to make sure you’re looking chic and staying cool this summer, and for summers to come.

The Linen Shirt

“If you’re looking for a shirt to compliment a  summer suit, or simply a single jacket to be worn as a separate, you really can’t go far wrong for whatever occasion befits.”

Dress it up, or down, One of the beautiful characteristics of linen is its versatility as a garment piece. Linen clothing manages to do something that few other fabrics can, the ability to make the wearer look both casual and smart at the same time. What makes all the difference is the cut, cuffs and collars.

Huntsman’s Ready to Wear linen shirts come with our distinctive Hammick Collar, cut wide, it looks as equally elegant spread open, or with a knitted or slub silk tie.

The Hopsack Blazer

Hopsack is the go-to in cool, sophisticated separates or business or semi-casual affairs. Incredibly breathable and lightweight- this is a fabric that travels well, great if you’re getting away. This is a blazer with longevity, seeing you from Spring, well into Autumn, but light enough to keep out for July and August sun.

Particularly striking in a petrol blue, under sunny skies this is a cloth that really comes into its own!

The Seersucker trouser

“An all-cotton seersucker is a great option for hotter weather, due to the nature of the weave. The cloth doesn’t need to be pressed or ironed which makes it great for wearing again and again.”

Huntsman indigo seersucker trousers were designed in the Hollywood style, with a higher waist, pleat and belt loops, intended to be worn with a favorite cotton shirt, noo need for a jacket. Seersucker is effortless, timeless, and very cool. Working well for separates, Hopsack is the kind of cloth you can pair easily with other cotton and linens for a  relaxed but chic look.

The Indigo Sports Coat

Indigo is such a stylish colour and sets a tone for a relaxed contemporary style of clothing. In summer, take a break from Navy, and choose a to opt for a jacket with a beautifully rich depth of colour. The colour Indigo was key in the inspiration for our latest collection of wool and linen jacketing. Indigo is a deep rich primary colour, with variants of ultramarine, which means it works as well with other blue tones as it does with fresh whites, tans and beige. Dress it up with a navy trouser, or down with ecru shorts It really is a colour to invest in for chic summer dressing.

The Linen Trouser

As with linen shirts, a real all-rounder. In fact linen in a great choice for all separates and even that stand-out suit. The beauty of linen is in the way that it looks once worn. Such an easy, natural drape to the cloth means that you don't run the risk of ever looking hot under the collar, even after having it on all day. This season we've added an indigo herringbone linen trouser in our flat front, house silhouette, as well as trousers in crisp tobacco and taupe.
