Huntsman collaborates with Joshua Ellis to create a limited range of luxurious cashmere blankets
Two classic designs have been brilliantly brought to life in collaboration with Joshua Ellis, one of England’s oldest cashmere makers. United by a shared passion for detail and commitment to quality, the firms have come together to produce two limited-edition blankets in celebration of the manufacturer’s 250th anniversary.
Subtle, sophisticated and eye-catching: the moss Rutland and the green Herringbone throws are distinctively Huntsman. To them, Joshua Ellis has added the sumptuous smoothness, comfort and depth of colour that only cashmere can bring. Strong and fine threads have been sourced from herds in Outer and Inner Mongolia to create a supple, durable cloth at an average 17 microns. Coloured yarns are twisted together, merging to recall the earthy tones of Shetland tweed, adding depth to the check. An airy structure is then introduced on the loom, giving the fabric its natural stretch for comfort. To finish, gentle Yorkshire water encourages the cashmere fibres to burst and bring out their softness. The fabric is then pressed to achieve a soft but smooth, non-fuzzy surface, improving resistance to pilling.
The decadent throws are crafted from the ‘Four Point Star’ fabric – a tweed cloth that is robust yet soft to the touch, giving warmth without weight; a classic yet refined luxury. Stitched and embroidered by the skilled hands of one of Joshua Ellis’ most esteemed and experienced embroiders, making for a truly timeless piece.
