Huntsman in New York

Huntsman has been making the world's finest handcrafted clothes since 1849. Today, our bespoke tailoring in New York continues that tradition at our atelier on W. 57th Street,  every garment cut, constructed and finished by hand, by our own team of cutters and tailors. Savile Row craftsmanship, in the heart of Manhattan.

The Atelier

Situated in the heart of Manhattan, our New York atelier was designed to carry the quiet sophistication of 11 Savile Row into the centre of the city. A beacon for the sartorially discerning, our elegant pied-à-terre,  once home to the legendary Tony Bennett, is the perfect space to settle into and begin your bespoke commission.

The Art of Bespoke

Every Huntsman commission begins with a single conversation and up to 28 measurements, translated into a unique paper pattern drafted exclusively for you, and held in our archive for life. Up to 80 hours of handwork by our tailors shape every garment; from the first cutting to the final hand-stitch, each piece is built around the individual. No two bodies are the same, and no two Huntsman garments ever are either.

The details are entirely yours, the lining, the cuff, the cloth. A Huntsman garment is still being worn and enjoyed 20 years after it was made. That is what bespoke means, and it is what we have always done.

Our Services

Huntsman offers bespoke tailoring for men and women, each garment made entirely by hand to your individual measurements. For men, the full range of tailored clothing, from classic suiting to all manner of occasionwear, each one an expression of the Huntsman house style, guided by generations of experience.

For women, a bespoke service designed and led by women, bringing the same precision and depth of craft to every commission.

And for those who wish to begin at the very beginning, Huntsman is the only tailor on Savile Row with its own handloom, offering clients the opportunity to create their own signature tweed, sampled in-house, before a single pattern is cut.

Our Process

  • 1. Consultation

Whether your bespoke journey begins at our New York atelier or at one of our trunk show locations, you will be welcomed by our US Director, Ed Turco. Together, you will select from our comprehensive library of the world's finest cloths, before discussing the cut, style, and finishing details of your garment.

  • 2. Pattern

Senior cutter, Thomas Pierre Carr will be responsible for your garment from first measurement to final fitting. Taking more than twenty-eight precise measurements, assessing posture and stance,  every nuance of your form carefully translated into the exclusive paper pattern that serves as the foundation of your commission.

  • 3. Fittings

Every Huntsman commission involves a minimum of three fittings, each one building towards the exact line and comfort for which we are renowned. At your baste fitting you will try on your garment for the first time; at each subsequent fitting it is completely remade from scratch, incorporating every adjustment, until the silhouette, proportion and finish are entirely yours.
