The Shooting Suit
A shooting suit typically consists of three to five pieces, most commonly a jacket, waistcoat or vest, and breeks or trousers, with optional additions. If starting your wardrobe, begin with breeks, a shooting vest, and a field coat or jacket. Tweed remains the classic choice, combining tradition with practicality in the field.

The Tweed
Select tweed carefully, choosing muted tones that blend into the countryside. Greens, browns, rusts, charcoals, and subtle touches of beige or pale blue provide effective camouflage while maintaining elegance. The time of the year and conditions should also be considered when selecting the weight of your tweed.

Shirt & Tie
Avoid stark white or bright blue shirts, which clash with tweed. Instead, choose softer hues or patterns such as country checks, plaids, corduroy, or discreet motifs to complement your look.
A tie is essential, adding both character and polish. Skip bold solids; instead, choose knitted, cashmere, or patterned ties featuring country scenes or small motifs.

Finishing Touches
A tweed cap completes the outfit while providing warmth and protection for long days outdoors. Traditional flat caps or baker-boy styles both suit the field. In colder weather, thoughtful layering ensures comfort without sacrificing style.
