This summer, Huntsman is delighted to partner with the National Trust for a unique exhibition at Anglesey Abbey, Cambridgeshire: ‘Tailoring An Image’.

Running from 1st of July to the 31st of October 2025, the exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the world of mid-20th-century men’s fashion, spotlighting the extraordinary wardrobe of Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven, a true connoisseur of bespoke tailoring and a distinguished Huntsman client.

Lord Fairhaven’s wardrobe, preserved in the very home where he lived, is one of Britain’s most fascinating menswear collections. Many of the garments on display were handcrafted by Huntsman, including some truly unique pieces: his bright red leather cropped riding breeches—unmatched in museum collections—and a wine-coloured velvet smoking suit that exemplifies the flair and individuality that bespoke tailoring allows. His extensive collection of unique equestrian wear, formal wear and evening wear is testament to a man who championed craftsmanship, individuality and style, achieving an aesthetic quite unique for the period, and only possible through bespoke commission.

Our collaboration with Anglesey Abbey’s curatorial team has been a journey through our own archives. Together with National Trust Property Curator Roisin Rampley, we traced Lord Fairhaven’s orders up to 1966, uncovering the orders that defined his image. For Campbell Carey, Huntsman’s Head Cutter, it was a deeply personal experience that led him through the annals of his forebears — the formidable and legendary Colin Hammick having been Lord Fairhaven’s cutter. Campbell notes:

“A bespoke Huntsman suit represents the work of at least eight pairs of hands and over 80 hours of handwork, and so Lord Fairhaven’s wardrobe demonstrates hundreds of hours of craftsmanship.”

Visit The Exhibition

Visitors to Anglesey Abbey will find the exhibition room transformed into a Savile Row-inspired workroom, with historical items on loan from Huntsman. A specially commissioned film takes guests behind the scenes of the Huntsman workshop on Savile Row, offering exclusive insights into our craft and the making of Lord Fairhaven’s garments.

The exhibition also features a series of talks, workshops, and style masterclasses, inviting visitors to reflect on the artistry of tailoring and the power of clothing as self-expression.

To experience this celebration of sartorial heritage and craftsmanship, ‘Tailoring An Image’ is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm, and is free for National Trust members (normal admission applies for other visitors). Whether you are passionate about fashion history, craftsmanship, or simply appreciate the finer things in life, this exhibition offers an unmissable opportunity to explore the legacy of Huntsman and the enduring elegance of bespoke tailoring.

We give thanks to the National Trust and the team at Anglesey Abbey for their collaboration and dedication to preserving the story of British tailoring, and including Huntsman in this unique exhibition.
