Choosing to commission a bespoke garment is a special and unique experience and one that should be savoured, but if it’s your first time, the choice of design, cloth and style details can be overwhelming, especially if you’re unsure what it is you’d like to achieve with your wardrobe.
For your client manager, the most important part of your initial consultation is getting to know you. Every great bespoke garment begins with a great conversation; one in which we can understand your expectations and requirements. Whether you have something special in mind or need inspiration, here are some tips to consider ahead of your appointment.
The time you spend with your client manager at your first appointment will be the guide from which your bespoke garment evolves and will begin a special sartorial relationship, one which you will cherish for years to come.
We sat down with Senior Client Manager David Goggins to get his top tips for what to expect ahead of your first appointment with us, and some questions to consider.

1. What kind of garment are you thinking of commissioning?
Do you have a style in mind already, or are you undecided? Our team can help advise you on the benefits of different options of tailoring.

Do you expect to wear this garment every day, for work or to travel, or is this a garment which you’ll be saving for special occasions?

Are you recreating a favourite garment, or is this a first commission? If you do have this garment in your wardrobe already- what is it that you like about it so much? Are there any style details you’d change, add or remove?
4. How do you like your clothes to fit?
Have you experienced any fit issues in the past that really peeve you, or is there a garment that you own that you love the fit and feel of and would like to replicate?
5. Are you replacing something or is this a new commission?
If yes, what worked well, and what didn’t work well about this garment's predecessor.
6. What shoes will you be wearing with this outfit?
This is important to help us advise you on style details, the fit and function of your garment.
7. Do you have an image in your mind of how the finished garment will look?
Do you already have an idea of how you see this garment? Perhaps there’s a style or individual you admire and should inspire this commission, or perhaps it’s a garment you owned previously.
8. Who are your style heroes?
Is there an individual, or individuals whos style do you admire? What is it that you like about the way they dress?
